If you've seriously been thinking about installing a pool, you're probably familiar with the concept of a prefab pool. These pools are highly durable one-piece shells. With the production of your pool taking place at our homes-based shop, and the fact that we manufacture your pool with our own two hands, you can be confident that your pool is made with care and attention to detail.
Step 1: Choose Size and Design
With a variety of pool sizes and designs choosing your pool might just be the hardest choice. Take the time to decide on the placement of your pool, size of your pool and your bench / tanning ledge configuration. Have something custom in mind? Don't hesitate to contact us about custom designs. Let us know if you'll be needing a manual or automatic safety cover.
Step 2: Apply For Your Permit
Check with your local municipality to see what is required. A few things they may need are site plans, geotechnical survey, pool dimensions and structural drawings. We can provide stamped and sealed engineering drawings for an additional fee.
After the manufacturing process, each pool is delivered by a flat deck or crane truck to the residence and then hoisted by crane. The shell is then placed into a meticulously pre-dug hole. The entire installation process is extremely quick! This is one of the many great things about prefab pools .. they don't take long to install.
So, how fast is fast? Most of our pool projects are installed in a matter of hours! Contrarily, a concrete or liner pool that can take several months to install. The speed of installation for a prefab pool is very appealing because it minimizes interruptions and the clutter that most home improvement projects require. From the time we arrive and set the pool, you get it plumbed and filled, you could be swimming within the week.
Step 3: Basic Site Preparation
Every pool must sit on compacted crushed gravel or concrete slab footing, specific to the soil type on-site. All you'll need to do is complete the site preparation in accordance with these requirements. This is determined by the geographical survey.
Step 4: Delivery and Crane Hire
A crane is required to lift the pool onto the delivery truck at our shop. It’s transported to your home. A crane is required to off load the pool and set it into place. Every pool is delivered with the required lifting lugs. We recommend installing your pool at a vacant lot stage, it will be easier and more affordable. Pools are regularly lifted over homes. Reputable crane companies offer a free site assessment and quote based on your pool size and weight. We can organize this if you are in the Fraser Valley.
Who can install your pool? We recommend having a professional install for a stress free experience. They will take care of the permitting process to surrounding landscaping. This is what we call a turn key experience. Here are your options:

Bring your own builder - any qualified home builder or pool builder can manage the permit, site preparation, and installation of your Elysian Steel Pool.

Step 5: Standard Plumb Up and Fill
Hire a licensed Plumber / Gas Fitter. Make sure you fill your pool with water before you backfill.
Step 6: Electrical and Back Fill
A trade-qualified electrician must be hired. If your steel pool is installed in-ground or semi-recessed, you will also need to backfill. Low-cost options such as recycled drainage gravel will do the trick and allow for drainage away from the concrete footing.
